The Paddock at Palace Farm is a unique ‘away from it all’ country retreat.

We enjoyed 5 Star treatment from our hosts Kay & Brian in a detached exceptionally refurbished two-bedroom cottage with all mod cons including central heating, log fire, top quality bathroom & kitchen plus high-speed Wi-Fi. The beds are so comfortable you do not want to get up! There was just nothing not to like about this place because it truly offered a better than home experience. The property itself overlooks the splendid Hereford  countryside in the most tranquil of settings & yet is only a few minutes from a combined local shop & pub which offers quality food in a very friendly local atmosphere.  We have already booked in for a return visit.

Property review:

The cottage was beautifully finished and stocked with all the equipment we needed for a self-catering holiday. The views are amazing and the horses, pigs and sheep were a massive hit with the kids. Kay and Brian are lovely, attentive hosts but gave us all the space we needed and kindly gave us the run of the fields to tire the kids out. There are dozens of attractions within 20-30mins and so Palace Farm is an ideal location for the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.

Property review:

A great place to stay to get away from the city; Great location for local walks as well as day trips a little further away, great views to enjoy after a day of exploring and very welcoming hosts. The kids loved spending time with the animals and running across the fields. And the cosy lounge was perfect for evenings to curl-up with a blanket on the sofa by the fire or a movie night with the kids.

Property review:
We had the most wonderful and relaxing stay. Thank you for being so welcoming. The house is beautifully located in the perfect spot for local walks but also exploring further afield in the Brecon Beacons. We enjoyed walking but always looked forward to coming back in the afternoon and relaxing in the garden with that gorgeous view. We all loved our time with the horses and pigs... but our son especially enjoyed hanging out by the paddocks and stroking the horses. Thank you.

Improvements suggested:
We were the first guests to this property so inevitably there were a few things missing - clothes line, soap dish in shower, maps of local area and more storage space for clothes in one of the bedrooms - but we mentioned them to the owners and all suggestions have been gratefully received and added to shopping list :)
